2018 stroke rally Squires 8th 9th Sept

Hi everybody, I have agreed the date for next years rally with Squires Cafe. Its our regular slot, 2nd weekend in Sept allowing folk to attend the classic GP in the iom and still make the rally the following weekend.

Dave was a little miffed at last years debacle when the organisers dropped the ball just a few weeks ahead of the date... i have promised that this year we will do a better job of the promotion.

So get it in yer diaries and mention it wherever you can, other forums, facefook, etc. I will sort out a poster asap and try to get the classic bike magazines to put it in their calendars....

There will indeed, i will make one up and I’m open to ideas about its look and content....  Although, as i have always maintained, for me the rally is primarily about bikes...... looking at bikes, riding bikes then drinking beer and not about charity and fund raising, so i prefer to keep it simple and stick to the tried n tested format.... whaddya think?

Argghhhh theres always another rally to clash with  but what can you do? We seem to get a decent turnout each year, especially since we moved a week later to avoid the manx gp...

only decision I want to be making next year is which bike to ride ! and how much beer I drink before falling over !

I'd best get mi finger out, I am currently without a working 2 stroke and a mere ten months notice to get one sorted is pushing it.

Have you done the rally before Mick? Definitely not to be missed if you can help it...

yes greatstuff , can make this again now , a longer ride out is my preference . the ride to saeways is ace but to come back a different way is my vote then obliteration in the bar

Yes, I think I've managed to get to 4 out of the last 5 years.

Good idea gaz, we could run an alternative return trip for those who fancy a longer run out..... might not be popular with those on small bikes but i’m sure a few would be up for it.

Nice one.... unfortunately i missed the last two years but have been to all the others from the very first...

not too far out but the road from seaways to wetwang then turn right down to the roundabout where you can turn right for north dalton ,warter,pocklington is a absolute 2 stroke track , then we can drop back around to melborne, elvington and do the best bit of the old return route .

Hi all, i have now got a flyer for the rally..... please feel free to download and print as many as you like and also share on any other forums.. I will be asking the classic bike magazines and papers to publicise the rally so hopefully we will get a great turnout... cheers!

Well its just about come round again and as usual all goes quiet
As of this moment the only thing planned is the usual ride to Seaways on the Saturday which Dave Muttsnutts has kindly offered to lead again we are expecting to leave Squires around 1pm as last year.
Hope to catch up with you guys on the day
