New 2 stroke....

Just bought a 350 YPVS, no pictures yet as I haven't collected it, but its mostly ready for riding, just in need of a new paint job.. Never ridden any LC before so looking forward to it..

Here she is...fully restored except for the paintwork...I think I will go for the black N2 paintscheme and a round headlamp / naked bike look

I think its normal Gra, maybe the lack of fairing and the non std exhausts (which hug the bottom of the motor at the front) which add to the illusion...

Just catching up Rob and what a pleasant surprise looks a nice one(although I know nowt about YPVS,s lol) and it,ll be even better when you have finished with it.
Being a short arse the riding position didn,t suit me as well as the LC but you should be OK

I know nowt much about them either Martin.....although I am learning a bit now... I’m sure it would fit you perfectly . Hopefully the po did a decent restoration, from what I can see it was put together well, nothing overtightened etc.

A bit of re-finishing the engine cases and the exhausts...just need the paintwork to be finished now




Fitted some replacement clocks off an old FZR250, they are the same surround as the naked N2 model which I am aiming for....the original clocks fit into the surround and it just needed repainting and polishing.... Fitted a new round headlamp and new brackets, made a bracket and fitted new indicators....



Can’t wait to get it MOT’d and go for a test ride....

That looks wicked Rob should make a good mid-bike between the 250 and the NSR.

Photo’s always make em look better than they are . It’ll be interesting to see how it compares to the NSR.... its lighter than the RD250 but probably a bit heavier than the NSR but not much in them, the ACRD is a 30hp motor, The NSR is 45hp but with wire splice mod prob about 50/55hp....the YPVS is 63hp....so in theory it should fly... we’ll see.

Finally finished... just needs an mot. Sods law that summer appears to have halted for the time being.

Definitely Rob although as usual long term predictions change daily so we,ll see...there is always the week after...

Went for a little pre-mot test run today up the street and back, but not running well....chassis, brakes, steering and suspension all feels great but missfiring above 3k revs...... i suspect there may be an electrical glitch. Will try another battery tomorrow as there were one or two other little electrical issues.... oh and the clutch needs adjusting

im sure u know old petrol doesnt help as well. maybe it just needs a bit of a blast to clear the cobwebs


my yam 350/400's you could run without a charged battery as once they got over 2k they produced their own charge. dunno bout the newer models - never owned any

try filing the points clean with your finest nail file....

Haha... I forgot to check the points... actually i do believe that a poorly battery does affect these ypvs’s, sure I’ve read it somewhere. Fresh petrol in the tank so can’t be that....and it was running well according to the po

Andy As Gra says we are knackered for this week and unfortunately I cannot do Tuesday but fingers crossed we can get out next week and it gives Rob time to sort his electrical issues
