why is it?

i can get a pair of piston kits from japan in 3 working days, but i
can't get 500mm of 20mm steel tube from rochdale in over a week?

Did you order the steel from a fruit shop maybe?

Tube normally comes in 3 or 6m lengths. The stockholders here would have it in stock but they're not geared up to sell short lengths.

Unless there's something special about it like the grade or you want seamless I would be surprised if it's not a stock item.
