A friend at work "reminded" me that the Oil Can Cafe is closing.. Apparently the land of the old Mill is destined to become a housing development.

It was more a surprise than a reminder, since I hadn't heard anything.

What a shame.., it should be listed, great to see the old factory buildings, i"v been once,,

There's a new Cafe in Batley along bikey lines, we might have to review the venue properly. Phil Swiv had a ride over there late in the year with a couple of locals.

OK just done some digging and found this;
This week IK Classics Garage is moving to our fantastic new premises at Washpit Mills in Holmfirth ready to begin restoring, transforming and fixing in the New Year! Check out all of the marvellous work our little elves have been up to these past months!

The Oil Can Cafe and all of the fabulous clothing boutiques will be soon to follow as we are now well and truly underway transforming the magnificent former mill into a trip down memory lane you’re sure to remember.

Just had a look myself, it's not far from the original site, my mate never sed it was moving, just closing/site sold.. Will see what it looks like when they get moved, but it's still a fair old hike from over here, I'm still game for visiting Jems at some point.

its a great stop over for me when going to squires.
hope the atmosphere is just as good as the old one
